dvipng software package provides convert DVI files to PNG graphics, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install dvipng
dvipng is installed in your system.
Make ensure the dvipng package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep dvipng *
You will get with dvipng package name, version, architecture and description in a table
